Key Responsibilities
🔍 Investigating Risk Events & Financial Crimes:
Review and investigate risk events/cases escalated by the Financial Crime Surveillance Operations (FCSO-AA) teams, transaction monitoring, and name screening.
Conduct manual case investigations, assess risks, and escalate suspicious activities as per the Group’s policies and local regulations on AML/CTF.
Handle Law Enforcement Agency (Position: Officer (Grade 4) – Financial Crime Surveillance Operations
LEA) inquiries, including production orders and legal document requests.
🚀 Strategic & Operational Responsibilities:
Support the implementation of financial crime surveillance strategies to align with Standard Chartered’s risk management framework.
Ensure compliance with AML surveillance procedures, client screening, and risk assessments.
Monitor and analyze financial crime-related risks affecting the bank’s operations and propose improvements.
🛡 Risk Management & Compliance:
Perform risk assessment, closure of non-suspicious cases, and escalate potential financial crime risks.
Maintain oversight of risk-mitigating action plans and regulatory compliance frameworks.
Ensure effective handling of transaction monitoring, name screening, list management, and law enforcement inquiries.
📊 Process & Governance:
Maintain and update internal financial crime watchlists.
Support audits, risk reviews, and regulatory compliance checks.
Ensure timely reporting and escalation of significant AML/CFT risk issues.
Qualifications & Skills Required
🎓 Education: Master’s degree in a relevant field.
📌 Experience & Training:
Strong knowledge of AML/CTF regulations and financial crime compliance.
Prior training in Group’s Anti-Money Laundering/Counter-Terrorist Financing Policy and Standards is preferred.
Excellent command of English and Nepali (written and spoken).
